Nelson Rascon, DadsMOVE
Nominated by MULTIPLE INDIVIDUALS
How does this individual go above and beyond to impact and improve the lives of children and families in our community?
“DadsMOVE, a distinguished nonprofit organization, has been a beacon of hope and support for families, especially children, for many years. With a mission deeply rooted in advocacy and education, DadsMOVE has transformed the lives of countless families through their multifaceted approach. The organization is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to empowering parents, fostering father-child relationships, and providing comprehensive training in caregiving for all parents and caregivers alike.”
What special qualities does this individual bring into their work?
“I could go on for days about positive qualities but I'll pick one each for a few different ppl in organization. Nelson, the ED has been a godsend for DadsMOVE! Working hard, dedicating all his time and even letting his real estate business suffer because of the time he has had to put into growing DadsMOVE and helping as many families as possible. He might be ED but he will discuss anything related to DadsMOVE work or services while off the clock and even at odd hours. I personally have discussed ideas, opportunities, and ways to help more families.
He is the definition of DadsMOVE and the whole organization revolves around the work he has accomplished. But there are some great staff members helping him out now and the main special qualities I see in the organization as a whole is about the same. Dedication, hard work, and the willingness to go the extra mile even voluntarily for the sake of helping and literally saving families from chaos. They deal with behaviorally challenged children and their families and no one else does what they do. I believe it's time for them to be recognized as it could really give them the big boost they need to expand out into other states besides Washington.”
Describe a specific instance or project where the individual exemplified their special qualities, contribution, or innovative solution?
“Their dad’s group—lead by dads, for dads—to understand their worth and need in the family structure. These meeting are open and available to everyone. They share the family perspective at events, conferences, and state meetings.”
What else should we know about this nominated individual?
“This is a wonderful growing program that offers career paths through CPC trainings, along with moving into re-entery for fathers coming from incarnation. They continue to add curriculum to the many tools they offer.”
